Seder Meal

Sunday, April 2 / 9am, 10am, 11:15am

Understanding Jesus and the truth behind his purpose, love, life, ministry, and how He fulfilled the promises and law of the Old Testament scriptures is key for us to understand. Jesus lived in a way, that if followed, gives us a beautiful example of living in community with others through actions filled with hope for good, mercy toward others, and a tremendous outpouring of grace towards all who will receive it. That’s who Jesus was when he walked on earth! He embodied true love! In order to better understand the actions of Jesus, we need to as Christians, understand the meaning behind the practice of Passover.

The Passover or Seder meal is a practice that the Jewish people hold onto that reminds them of how God freed them from slavery. God is a God that desires us to live in freedom, not only in our hearts but in our physical lives as well. Slavery is horrific and God stepped in and freed them and still has the desire to step in and free us. The elements of that passover meal remind people still today that through the blood of the lamb the angel of death passed over those homes who loved God and followed Him and through the blood of Jesus death is not our destiny either. Jesus became that passover lamb and Jesus provides freedom from death and so much more. Each element from that passover/Seder meal represents Jesus in very specific ways, showing us how he fulfills all the promises of the Old Testament and has conquered the grave.

Come join us for three unique services @ 9 am, 10 am, and 11:15 am on Palm Sunday where we will share in the Passover/Seder meal and reflect on the old meaning as well as the meaning those elements hold in relation to Jesus. Jesus has fulfilled them and is now bringing life and freedom to all who will receive and accept it. So come and understand better how Jesus is the bridge and fulfillment for you today!

Easter Sunday

Sunday, April 9 / 9am, 10am, 11:15am

Easter is a time to celebrate life and new beginnings!

The first Easter changed everything! From then on life was available to all who will receive Jesus as their savior!

AFC is experiencing so much new life and we want to ensure that we are creating spaces for that life to continue to grow and develop. We understand that each person has different worships styles and preferences. At AFC we strive to develop worship experiences that fit all styles of worship. Worship is our expression of praise to the King of Kings and no matter what should be spirit filled. Worship is our gift to God and draws us into a place of hearing from God. So long as our hearts are mission minded and receptive to the heart of the Lord for His people, we are okay with worship preferences. We are created unique, which means our worship preferences are unique as well.

We will have three unique Easter worship services. Worship for each will be different but the message will be similar. Some differences, but the base of the message will be the same.

1st Service @ 9am / Sanctuary

This service is a beautiful combination of Choir, a praise team, and an incredibly talented orchestra! These three elements put together make for a beautiful time of worship with a more traditional bent to it!

2nd Service @ 10am / Gathering Space

This service will be very different from the others. This service will have a much more relaxed atmosphere and contemporary feel to it. It is singing and leading from the piano. Very much like Blessing Offor. Look Blessing Offor up. He is a tremendous worshipper! If you join us for this, you will not be disappointed.

3rd Service @ 11:15 am / Gathering Space

This service will be our all-out contemporary service. This service has a tremendous amount of energy and is perfect for families with children and youth. The feel here is like being a part of Maverick City worship! This service is a unique and upbeat feel that leaves you wanting to worship more!

Sunday School @ 10:20am

SUNDAY SCHOOL WILL REMAIN AT 10:20 on EASTER! Sunday school is an amazing time of studying the word and connecting with others.
If we find this works well and we stick with three services, we will add classes after the second service that would serve our second service crowd. That would be in the future but for Easter Sunday second service will be at 10 and Sunday School at 10:20. For families with kids in the second service at 10, the kids would still exit after worship.

The bottom line…we have something for everyone on Easter! Begin inviting and sharing the news of all the opportunities you can be a part of. Most of all, when entering the doors of AFC on a Sunday be ready to encounter God and be challenged by His Spirit! Great days are ahead! Pray with us that we would experience Heaven here on earth! There is a place for you!
