FALL RETREAT 2022

The AFCNAZYTH Fall Retreat offers students a chance to kick-off the academic year by spending intentional time focusing on their relationship with God! Thru dynamic worship and impactful messages, students will feel a sense of community with each other as we explore who exactly the Holy Spirit is and why we need Him in our lives.

Wednesday, October 14th thru Friday, October 16th, 2022
Departing from AFC: 2 PM

Location: Walnut Ridge Retreat Center
4500 Bear Creek Church Road, Morgantown, IN 46160

Who is eligible? Students who are currently in 6th - 12th grade

Early Bird Rate: $145 // Must be paid by September 23rd
Regular Rate: $160 // Must be paid by October 2nd

Activities to include:
- Paint Wars
- Shaving Cream Fight
- Late Night Talent & Variety Show
- Wilderness Prayer Walk
- Glow in the Dark Activity

What to Pack:
- Bedding for twin sized bed and/or sleeping back
- Pillow
- Enough outfits to last the retreat including two pairs you can get messy in
- A few pairs of shoes including a pair you can get messy in and a pair you can run in
- A Hoodie, sweatshirt, and/ or jacket (it can get chilly this time of year!)
- Toiletries including shampoo, body wash, tooth brush/paste, and deodorant
- A Bible and something to take notes with
- A bag for dirty clothes

Retreat Director: Joey Claus

Joey serves at the Pastor of Student + Young Adult Ministries at Anderson First Church of the Nazarene. He is married to Stacie and has a daughter named Annie. He has served as a camp director for several years, had co-led the Indianapolis District NYI to Nazarene Youth Conference, and currently leads the Northeastern Indiana District NYI for Celebrate Life at Olivet Nazarene University. He is a graduate of Ohio Christian University and is currently enrolled at Olivet for a Masters in Pastoral Leadership.

Speaker: Rev. Michael Blevins

Rev. Michael Blevins has served as the Lead Pastor at New Covenant CCCU in Waverly, OH since April 2021. He is a graduate of Ohio Christian University with a Bachelor's in Christian Ministries and a Master's Degree in Practical Theology. He and his wife Kenna have three children: Merrick, Daphne, and Carolina. Pastor Michael's desire is to lead people into a deeper knowledge and understanding of Scripture and a deeper relationship with Jesus as well as equip them to impact their circle of influence for Christ.

Worship Leader: Bryson Fox

Bryson Fox has been in worship ministry for a majority of his life, having grown up in a ministerial family. He is a graduate of Trevecca Nazarene University with a Bachelor's in Christian Ministry and Worship and is currently enrolled at Asbury Theological Seminary studying philosophy and apologetics.
