Ministry to Women

When you picture the word ARISE, you probably think of the sun coming up in the morning, casting it’s spreading light over everything, as it coaxes the darkness to fade and eventually flee. As we, the women of AFC, arise in our intimacy with Jesus, the light that shines through us connects us to other women, who need the warmth and peace that only He can bring. Our desire is to create an environment that allows women to grow in their faith, but also in their relationships with each other. We are a community of women of all ages, reaching out to be in friendship with others.

Isaiah 60:1 – “Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”

Women's Wednesday Evening Winter Bible Study

“Rejection steals the best of who I am by reinforcing the worst of what’s been said to me.”

In Unvited, Lysa leans in to honestly examine the roots of rejection, as well as rejection’s ability to poison relationships from the inside out, including our relationship with God. With biblical depth, gut-honest vulnerability and refreshing wit, Lysa will help you:

Stop feeling left out and believe that, even when you are overlooked by others, you are handpicked by God.

Change your tendency to either fall apart or control the actions  of others, and embrace God-honoring ways to process your hurt.

Know exactly what to pray for the next 10 days to steady your soul and restore your confidence in the midst of rejection.

Overcome the two core fears that feed your insecurities, and understand the secret of belonging.

Uninvited reminds us we are destined for a love that can never be diminished, tarnished, shaken or taken – a love that does not reject or uninvite.

Join Ashley Dagostino as she leads this amazing study. Books available in class. Located in Classroom #4, Wednesday nights at 6:15pm.

Women's Tuesday Morning Bible Study

Prayer is the lifeblood of the Christian faith–but many followers of Jesus still struggle to make prayer part of their daily lives. In Pray First, bestselling author and pastor Chris Hodges shows us how to make prayer a first response instead of a last resort.

Why is it that so many Christians find it difficult to develop a vibrant and exciting prayer life? Even though prayer is foundational to the Christian life, many are intimidated or uncertain about how to talk to God. Prayer feels quaint and old-fashioned to some, sacred and uncomfortable to others. It’s not a lack of inspiration–there’s plenty of that. And it’s not that we don’t realize prayer is important–we know it is. So, what’s the issue?

Pastor Chris Hodges has spent years studying the prayers of the Bible and the models of prayer that the scriptures provide for Christians. Now, he shares the teachings and methods he’s used to successfully help hundreds of thousands of people understand how to spend time in conversation with God–and enjoy every minute.
